I love working for Avantis, I have just entered my 5th year. Everyday is different, it brings new challenges and enjoyment to solve the daily tasks that arise. My experience as a project manager is never boring or dull as everyday I liaise with colleagues, managers and directors, to clients, suppliers and logistics coordinators. Aspects of my job involves project manager costings, quoting and estimating, making and checking project progress reports, scope analysing, material comparison and ordering, travel arrangements and timesheets. No day is the same as my job is very unpredictable and flexible from one day being in the head office, next day in the fabrication workshop, then to being on site or travelling on a survey or project offshore and onshore, then last but not least working at home gives the ultimate flexibility when needed.

When I first joined Avantis, it was meant to be a short three-month internship. At the time, I had no prior work experience and wasn’t entirely sure what career path I wanted to pursue. Over the course of my internship, I received excellent training and was given the opportunity to work as an Accounts Assistant. Once the internship ended, I was offered a full-time position with Avantis, on the condition that I pursue my studies in accounting, starting with the AAT qualification and later progressing to ACA. I’ve now completed one year of AAT and have received invaluable support from the team throughout my studies and exam preparations.

Avantis has been an amazing learning experience. After finishing college and job skills training, I started as a Technical Admin, assisting with tasks like managing cost summaries and sending timesheets to agencies. I’ve since moved into a commercial role, handling sales invoices, project backlogs, and reports. I’m also studying Level 2 AAT and a Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship. Avantis has helped me develop problem solving, time management and teamwork skills, while providing the support and opportunities to grow and take on new challenges
